Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Medisafe: Therapy Reminder handles medication information, scanned label content, reminder permissions, and future product updates relevant to users and Google Play listing requirements.
Medisafe: Therapy Reminder is a medication reminder application designed to help older adults and caregivers organize medication records, scan labels, review reminders, and manage daily therapy routines. The current application behavior is primarily based on local on-device storage and local reminder scheduling.
1. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you use the app, Medisafe: Therapy Reminder may process the following categories of information:
- Medication details you enter manually, such as medication name, specification, dosage form, dose, instructions, schedule, category, and expiry date.
- Medication label text recognized from images that you capture or select for OCR-based medication scanning.
- App settings and preferences, such as language, theme mode, text scale, caregiver assist mode, and sync mode preferences.
- Reminder-related information used to schedule and display local medication alerts on your device.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to provide and improve the core medication support experience inside the app.
- Create, edit, display, and organize medication records inside your medication library.
- Recognize medication label content from images and allow you to review or correct OCR results before saving.
- Schedule, display, snooze, and manage local medication reminders based on your selected routine.
- Support accessibility, caregiver assistance, display preferences, and language selection.
3. Camera, Photos, and OCR Processing
The app may request access to your camera or photo library so that you can capture a medication label image or choose one from your device.
- These permissions are used to support medication label recognition and related review flows.
- Recognized text is presented to you for confirmation and manual correction before it is saved as a medication record.
- You can choose not to use the scan feature and instead add medication details manually.
4. Notifications
The app may request notification permission so scheduled medication reminders can appear on time.
- Notification permission is used to deliver reminder alerts for medication routines you configure.
- If notification permission is not granted, reminder alerts may not appear as expected.
- Reminder timing may rely on your device settings, including local time and time zone configuration.
5. Storage and Retention
Based on the current implementation, medication records and settings are primarily stored locally on your device.
- Medication data may be stored locally to support your ongoing reminder and review experience.
- App preferences may also be stored locally so the app can restore your settings.
- Sample medication data may be initialized on first launch or restored when you choose to reset local sample data.
6. Data Sharing and Network Behavior
Based on the current reviewed project structure, the app includes local-first behavior and mock sync scaffolding. A confirmed production backend integration is not publicly represented in the reviewed implementation.
- We do not describe the current app as requiring an always-on account or mandatory remote storage for its main medication management flow.
- If future versions introduce server-side synchronization, cloud backup, analytics, or account-based services, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features are released to users.
7. Advertising and AdMob Notice
The current app experience described in this document is focused on medication tools and reminder support. However, future versions of the app may include advertising services, including Google AdMob.
If AdMob or other advertising technologies are added in a future release, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what advertising-related data may be collected, how ad partners may process data, what identifiers may be used, and what user controls are available.
8. User Controls
You may have control over medication information and app behavior through the app interface.
- Edit or delete medication entries that you created.
- Review and correct OCR-recognized data before saving.
- Adjust language, theme, text scale, and caregiver-assist settings.
- Reset local sample data when that option is available in the app.
9. Children's Privacy
Medisafe: Therapy Reminder is intended as a medication management and reminder tool for general users, including older adults and caregivers. It is not specifically designed for children. If future distribution or feature design changes affect the intended audience, this policy may be updated accordingly.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product improvements, regulatory requirements, Google Play policy requirements, or future service integrations such as cloud features, analytics, or advertising services. When material changes are made, the updated version will be published with a revised effective date.
